I apologize for the lack of posts! Tumblr is having an issue with letting me get past the first page of my drafts, and I don’t want to post or queue several Bailey School Kids books in a row to get to something new… in the meantime, one of my favorites:
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff
Giving a mouse a cookie is simple enough, but he’ll want milk to go with it and when he’s done with the milk he’ll need a mirror to make sure he doesn’t have a milk mustache and when he looks in the mirror he’ll notice that he needs a haircut and on and on. One event will lead to another and before you know it, he’ll be back to wanting a drink of milk and a cookie to go with it. Our advice: don’t give a mouse a cookie!

A reissued cover of Mermaids Don’t Run Track by Debbie Dadey and Marcia T. Jones.
What do you think? I prefer the older cover, myself, it feels a bit more “mermaid” magical.

There are some pretty weird grown-ups living in Bailey City. But could the beautiful singing track coach with long hair really be a magical mermaid?
Bailey School Kids #26: Mermaids Don’t Run Track by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones
This was my absolute favorite Bailey School Kids book - only because I was utterly in love with mermaids when I read it!

November 9, 16202,950 miles sailed
"Land ahoy!"
… we held each other’s hands so tightly and almost dared not breathe, but minute by minute, the line became firmer and began to thicken. ‘Twas not a wisp of a dream but real. It has taken us all of sixty-five days, but we are here. This be the New World and it doth fill my eyes for the first time.

Arthur’s Nose by Marc Brown.
This is the very first “Arthur” book! Quite different from what we know and love today, isn’t it? The book was also republished as a limited edition with notes, doodles, and great information from the author on the evolution of Arthur and his friends.
